We are turning waste into a resource to create a waste-free community in Yandina.

Food Waste Loop run by Yandina Community Gardens is helping businesses create a circular economy in our township through food waste collection.

We collect food waste in all forms from businesses and divert it back to the local community.

In our first year, we processed 21.8 Tonnes of Food Waste!

About Us

Food Waste Loop divert food ‘waste’ from Yandina’s cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and coffee roasteries and turns it into a valuable nutrient-rich compost resource.

Sponsor a Bucket

If you love what we do, and want to help ensure we can continue? We can process a bucket of Yandina’s town waste on behalf of you.

Products for Sale

We sell our composted product back to the local community so you can nourish your soils and grow food.

Volunteer

Would you like to be part of some positive change and do something really amazing for the environment? Join our Food Waste Loop family!

Participants

The businesses involved in Food Waste Loop are leaders in sustainable waste management.

We can teach you how to compost!

We aim to educate people to compost at home, and in their local communities. By attending one of our workshops, you can:
– Learn all you need to know to start or improve your home compost.
– Learn how a local organisation or group can process large quantities of waste.
